We had a great group that gelled on our first Sunday meeting. While we were there the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was rehearsing in the Chapel and that was real treat to sit and listen to amazing musicians practicing. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Although we were behind barriers, we could see her profile along with Prince Charles and his wife. She rearranged the weeks schedule to accommodate this, got us there, assessed the very crowded situation and offered that we take a coffee break and let the initial flush of crowds thin out. It can't be easy getting 26 people to pay attention to necessary details while keeping an ever pleasant demeanor. Jeanne was a fantastic tour guide- knowledgeable, entertaining, witty, friendly and a pleasure to be with. The itinerary was a great mix of group sightseeing and time to explore on our own. This helped us to feel that we were really experiencing the city rather than just passing through as observers. The beauty of Westminster Abbey struck me as well, especially the fan vaulted ceiling. Accommodations were very nice and food was good. We thoroughly enjoyed the history, the culture, the dining experience and our tour guide. Later that day I was amazed and exuberant to get within three feet of the Queen as her motorcade returned to Windsor Castle. We'll meet at our hotel in central London at 3 p.m. to get acquainted.
